Ownership

## “Everything matters. Nobody owns all of it.”

Marketing owns the campaign. Sales owns the deal. Service owns the customer. But who owns the handoffs, the data, the website, and the software connecting all of them?

When the answer is “kind of everyone,” the work tends to land on the founder, the most technical employee, or whoever last touched the system. That can keep things moving for a while. It is a tough way to grow.

### Why the same problems keep coming back

Teams optimize their own piece. An urgent request jumps ahead of an important improvement. A contractor finishes a project and leaves. Nobody is responsible for checking whether the workflow still works three months later or whether a new business decision changes the underlying setup.

The missing piece is often continuity. Someone needs to understand the whole system, maintain the priorities, and connect the technical change to the business reason for making it.

### How we scope ongoing support

We start with the friction your team feels most often and the outcomes leadership wants. Then we map the existing tools, owners, open projects, recurring work, and decisions waiting on technical help.

- What keeps pulling you away from the work only you can do?
- Which handoffs fail between marketing, sales, and service?
- What needs ongoing attention versus a defined one-time project?
- Who can make decisions, and who needs to be involved?
- What work is already covered by your team or other partners?
- How much support capacity is realistically needed each month?

We build a shared backlog with clear priorities. That keeps the agreement tied to useful work instead of an open-ended list of “tech stuff.”

### What a fractional solution could look like

Midwest RevTech becomes a continuing RevOps partner for the systems supporting your revenue and customer experience. We help diagnose problems, decide what matters next, and build the improvements together.

A month might include improving lead routing, repairing an integration, rebuilding a dashboard, updating a service page, and helping the team use a new process. The mix depends on the business. We keep a visible work queue, document important changes, and make the tradeoffs clear when priorities compete.

Fractional support starts at $1,500 per month and goes up to $5,000 per month, depending on the capacity you need. Agreements can be changed or canceled with 30 days’ written notice. Bigger standalone builds can still be scoped as projects when that is the better fit.

### Client perspective: Velentium

Ben Trombold, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Velentium, describes Nate’s insight as helpful in moving toward a better result even when the direction was not completely clear. His testimonial speaks to the value of working through decisions with someone who can connect the business question and the technical work. You can find it on our [client proof page](https://www.midwestrevtech.com/case-studies).

That is evidence of the way we collaborate. It is not a claim that every client has the same engagement or outcome.

### How we know the relationship is useful

We review what shipped, what changed for the team, what is still stuck, and what should come next. The measures depend on the priorities: response times, manual steps, reporting confidence, website inquiries, adoption, or time returned to the people running the business.

You still make the business decisions. We bring the context, technical judgment, and hands-on help to make those decisions easier to carry through. Learn more about [fractional RevOps support](https://www.midwestrevtech.com/fractional-revops).

How we diagnose

## The software is rarely the whole story.

A lasting fix connects four layers. Ignoring one usually moves the problem somewhere else.

People

**Roles, skills, adoption, incentives, and ownership**

Process

**Stages, handoffs, decisions, exceptions, and service levels**

Data

**Definitions, fields, sources, quality, access, and governance**

Technology

**Configuration, integration, automation, usability, and monitoring**

Bring the weird version

## What keeps breaking, slipping, or starting arguments?

You do not need a requirements document. Start with what the team experiences and what you wish happened instead.
